This beginners class is designed to give you the best possible introduction to working with clay. I'll guide you through the process of making a simple form that you can transform into a cup, vase, jug, plant pot or sculpture — the possibilities are limitless.

I'll help you with every step — shaping your simple form, creating texture and surface decorations, refining and finishing. I'm amazed at how good student works can be with little or no experience.

During this 2.5 hour workshop we'll:

  • Create pinch pots and/or coil and slab building techniques

  • Transform a simple form into a functional vase, cup, jug, bowl or sculpture

  • Learn to carve, cut, shape and join clay

  • Refine and finish 

What’s included:

  • All materials and are tools provided

  • Bisque-firing, glazing in a beautiful white dolomite glaze and glaze-firing

  • Excellent instruction and personal assistance

Beginners are welcome and the class is suitable for kids 12 and over.

Workshops are small, usually 4 — 8 people, to give you maximum assistance. These classes and are great for individuals, couples, and small parties — or a great gifts. You can book a private class for a one-on-one experience. 

Ceramics workshops are fabulous for Team Building — contact me to organise a time and venue.

Bring an apron (though not necessary) and images of ceramics you find inspiring. It's better to have short fingernails — but not critical.
